Rhodonite History

Rhodonite is a beautiful, pink to reddish-brown mineral. It is a manganese inosilicate, a chemical element with a hard, brittle, silvery metal, often found in minerals in combination with iron. The manganese in the Rhodonite crystal is often replaced by iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc, causing a color range from pale pink to deep rose-red. The name Rhodonite derives from the Ancient Greek word “rhodon” meaning “rose”.
