Labradorite History

Labradorite was first discovered in Labrador, Canada, but is located in many different parts of the world. It is known for its remarkable play of colors, which is often referred to as labradorescence.  It is part of the feldspar family,  a group of rock forming aluminum, composed of a complex combination of minerals, including aluminum, calcium and sodium. This semi-precious gemstone comes in a variety of grayish to black base color and has a Labradorescence effect. The labradorescence is a phenomenon where light entering the stone is scattered and reflected, creating a display of reflective iridescent colors. Each location produces Labradorite with its own unique characteristics, such as color variations or the intensity of the labradorescence.

Pyrite History

Pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, is an iron sulfide and  is the most abundant sulfide mineral. It has a metallic brass yellow hue which gives it a superficial resemblance to gold. The name Pyrite is derived from the Greek which means ‘stone or mineral which strikes fire’, since it was used for fire making in early human history.
Its color and metallic luster can fool people into mistaking it for gold. However, unlike gold, pyrite is not as valuable and lacks  the softness of gold.

Pyrite Healing properties

Pyrite is an abundant, healing stone. Pyrite contains one of the most abundant minerals known in the mineral kingdom and in various traditions, pyrite was considered a stone for abundance, and was used to attract prosperity and wealth.
